Scotland’s seasonal Smash tournament returns. We’re once again taking place at Drygate Brewery. The Road 2 Hype begins and we will be featuring Street Fighter V* and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3** alongside Smash 4 Singles.
*SFV is not an official Road2Hype event, we are covering the £10 entry for top 2 however.
**UMvC3 isn’t a main lineup game at Hypespotting this year.
Big Battlefield Winter will feature:
Smash 4 Singles: 80 player cap
Street Fighter V: 32 player cap
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: 32 player cap
Entry Costs are:

Under 18’s
All participants must bring a valid form of ID. Those between the ages of 12 and 17 will receive an under 18’s arm band. Those aged 11 and under aren’t permitted in the venue. Under 18’s must be accompanied by a adult 18+ Under 18’s 9pm curfew.
No outside food or drink is permitted in the venue, as Drygate provide both on the premises. No food is allowed to be brought into the tournament area.

SMASH 4
STAGE STRIKING
Stage Strike from Neutrals:
1. Players pick characters
2. Players play Rock Paper Scissors
3. Winner strikes a neutral stage off
4. Losers strikes 2 neutral stages off
5. Winner picks from the remaining 2 stages
After each match:
1. Winner announces 2 stage bans
2. Loser chooses counterpick stage
2a. If Loser picks Omega they can choose whatever Omega Formed stage they want (except normal FD)
4. Winner chooses character
5. Loser chooses character
Note: Gentleman’s rule applies but Final Destination and other stages marked as banned are still off limits.
TIE BREAKING
Note: Tiebreaking is only initiated if the game started a sudden death round upon completion. Otherwise, the game declared winner is the winner of the match.
Winner is determined by highest stock count then lowest percent. If the % were tied or the match ended in a simultaneous death, proceed to step 2.
1 stock, 3 minute match is played as a tiebreaker match. The winner of this match wins the round. If there is a tie in this match, proceed to step 3.
A second 1 stock, no time limit match is played. If a simultaneous death is initiated (such as swallocide) in this match, the initiator loses the match. There is no tie for this match, it is play until you win.

* Miis are Legal (Each setup will have default size 1122 Mii Brawlers / 2331 Swordsmen / 3322 Gunners available for use)

ULTIMATE MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3
Game Settings: 99 Seconds, 3/5 Games, Default Handicap, Default Damage
You may not use any glitch that prevents the game from being played. This includes game freezing, game resetting, player freezing, dead body infinites, etc.
Winner must keep exact same team (including assists), but may switch order of assists via loading screen. Point character must remain the same.
Galactus is banned in tournament play.

Farhan “Majic” Majid, Thomas “Kanin” Dyregaard and David “Gimble” Barrett will be making sure things run smoothly and on time. There will also be additional staff on the day.
